EPHI has become recipient of DInA’s Small Grants Program

 

ADDIS ABABA – March 13, 2024 (EPHI) - Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) has become one of the five recipients of Micronutrients Data Innovation Alliance’s (DInA) Small Grants Program, sources disclosed.

DInA has made official on its Newsletter of March - 2024 that five research Institutes drawn from various countries, including EPHI, have been awarded the inaugural Small Grants Program.

DInA has announced that Ethiopian Public Health Institute, The Observatory of Food Sovereignty and Food Security and Nutrition (OBSSAN) at the National University of Colombia, Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR), The Sierra Leone Agricultural Research Institute (SLARI), Lata Medical Research Foundation of India, have received the grant.

EPHI reportedly uses the fund to advance research on the association between serum and red blood cell folate to predict the risk of neural tube defects.

Congratulating on their success, DInA further indicated in the Newsletter that each awardee would receive USD 15, 000 to advance their respective project. (EPHI)
