Over the last half decade, the National Information Platform for Nutrition (NIPN) Ethiopia has worked with a broad range of nutrition-focused multi-stakeholders and partners to answer key policy questions to support change agents, policy makers, and researchers working to address malnutrition through well-synthesized evidence. NIPN provides capacity building for our multi-stakeholders and partners, in addition to formulating and analyzing policy questions for our national food and nutrition policy and decision makers. We also work with global and national nutrition partners to improve the use of evidence in decision-making to strengthen food and nutrition policy and food system implementation. Therefore, NIPN is organizing two seminar topics in collaboration with our partners: 1) Methods for nutritional and statistical analysis of diets in surveillance and epidemiology; and 2) Southeast Asia regional research and capacity building in nutrition by inviting well-known professors in the area.
This seminar will propose avenues for a policy-oriented research agenda seeking to promote a quality method for nutritional and statistical analysis of diets in surveillance and epidemiology in low- and middle-income countries. Dr. Sabri Bromage, who is a professor of nutrition at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Nutrition Department, will give a detailed briefing on nutritional methods and statistical analysis in diet. While Prof. Dr. Warangkana Srichamnong, who is a professor of Nutrition at the Institute of Nutrition, Mahidol University, who gives a detailed briefing on experiences in regional research and capacity building in nutrition. Finally, Dr. Samson G/Medhin (Assoc. Prof.) from Addis Ababa University, School of Public Health, College of Health Sciences, will share Ethiopian experience.
The audience will have an opportunity to interact with the speakers during the Q&A session.
